My name is Ilias Ntais and I was born in Austria on the 27th May 1981. The first years of my life were spent there playing with lego toys and trying to understand the big people around me (by the way I still don't). After that my family moved to Greece and I had to spent the next 12 years loosing my time in school and killing most of the creative ideas I had at the time.
After a year of pause I went to the Techical University of Crete were I got my diplom in Production Engineering and Management. There I worked with CAD software like pro Engineer which kind of fulfilled my dream as a kid to become a lego designer. My study cource consisted of three main knowledge areas:
• Engineering Management
• Operations Research
• Production Engineering
I spent a year on writing my thesis on the optimization of sales and inventory of a production system with two types of demands. The model I developed was based on the Markov chain model.
While working on the final stages of my Thesis I decided that I wanted to combine the knowledge I had gained at the university with an approach that could help me apply that knowledge to praxis. After researching my options and talking to many people I realized that what I was searching for was Project management.
So here I am in this course...I am happy to say that this choice has proved to be exactly what I was looking for, which is creativity and open minds.
Getting a good understanding of standards and developing the so called soft skills is something that this course really provides. After the past months my understanding of projects ,people , cultures and also me as a person has improved by living in this multicultural environment, sharing experiences and everyday life with people all over the world.
My personal interests include music, visual and contemporary art and improvisation. Also the physical basis of music and art is one of my main philosophical-mathematical interests. When I am not in the course I spent my time recording music, reading, traveling and exploring the art of doing nothing.
